Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair transplant surgery is a procedure performed to address hair loss or thinning by transplanting hair follicles from one part of the scalp (the donor area) to another (the recipient area). This surgical technique is commonly used to treat male pattern baldness, female pattern hair loss, and other types of hair loss.
There are two primary methods of hair transplant surgery:
Medications:
- Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): Also known as the strip method, FUT involves surgically removing a thin strip of scalp from the donor area, typically the back or sides of the scalp, where hair follicles are genetically resistant to balding. The strip is then dissected under a microscope to obtain individual hair follicles, which are then transplanted into the recipient area. The donor area is closed with sutures or staples, leaving a linear scar that can be concealed by surrounding hair.
- Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): FUE is a minimally invasive hair transplant method where individual hair follicles are harvested directly from the donor area using a small punch tool, typically ranging from 0.6mm to 1.0mm in diameter. These follicles are then transplanted into the recipient area. FUE leaves tiny circular scars in the donor area, which are less noticeable than the linear scar from FUT. The recovery time is typically shorter with FUE compared to FUT.
WE AT INNOVATION CARE PROVIDE WITH THE FUE TECHNIQUE.
What is a FUE hair transplant?
A FUE hair transplant is a modern method of hair transplantation. FUE, which is also known as Follicular Unit Extraction, is an advanced technology that works towards giving you the most "Natural Look" hair transplant possible.
How does a FUE hair transplant work?
During a FUE hair transplant at INNOVATION CARE, one of our highly skilled doctors will extract hair follicles from the back and side of the scalp – this area is called the Donor Area. The hair follicles are then transferred to an area of the scalp with little or no hair – called the Recipient Area. The hair follicles are placed in the scalp at an angle and density to match your natural growth pattern, which results in a natural and realistic looking transplant.
What is Bio-DHI Hair Transplant?
A Bio-DHI Hair Transplant is one of the newest techniques in hair transplantation and is a variation of the FUE hair transplant. It involves fewer steps and is mainly differentiated by its implantation process which makes uses of a special medical tool known as the Choi Implanter Pen.
Bio-DHI Procedure:
After administering local anesthesia, the grafts are extracted using the micromotor assisted punches just like it is done during a FUE transplant. But there after the Bio-DHI implantation process method is different and more efficient. It combines the making of channel incision dots in the recipient area and implanting the extracted follicles as one single process. Using a Choi implanter pen, the doctor loads the follicles extracted from the donor region into the implanter; the follicles are put gently, using forceps, inside the hollow needle (at the end of the implanter pen). The pen is then used to implant the preloaded follicles into the scalp. The surgeon inserts the needle at an appropriate slant usually at a 40-45% angle into the scalp and implants the follicle by pressing down on the plunger.
